In 1998, I took an overland truck trip from Kathmandu to Damascus. For eight-and-a-half weeks, two guide/driver/mechanics,
me, and seven other passengers proceeded to drive through Nepal, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Jordan.
I had a cheap video camera with me, but by the time I got to Delhi, I'd broken it. I rigged it enough to keep going but
when I got home, I wasn't able to get the footage into my Powermac 8500. I put off dealing with it, and 12-years-later, I
finally got around to digitizing the footage.
My tiny point-and-shoot Lumix shoots vastly superior video to this.
But they hadn't invented HD in 1998.
Here's the first week's worth of footage from my March, 1998 holiday.
